'Loop the Lakes' is an annual charity walk/run in Killeshandra, usually held on the first Saturday in September. Funds raised in aid of various charities including SOSAD Ireland, Focus Resource Centre, and Cavan Autism Parents Support (CAPS) group.

Started in 2012 to raise awareness around suicide prevention and mental health support in the local area, the volunteer-led event is supported by local businesses and the wider community.
Killeshandra is perfectly positioned to host events such as ‘Loop the Lakes’ with a myriad of carefully appointed and well-maintained walking tracks around some of the county's finest and most picturesque scenery.

The 'Loop the Lakes' route is either 3.5 or 7km long.

Entry (2024) is €20 for adults, €10 for U16s, and €40 for a family of four. Post-walk refreshments are provided in the Community Hall.
