Empowering women

ICA

Founded in June 1952, Killeshandra ICA Guild has been developing and improving the standard of rural life in a spirit of friendship and fun while supporting and promoting Irish language and culture.

Our monthly meetings frequently feature guest speakers or demonstrations, and other Cavan Federation Guild members often join us for the proverbial “cuppa and chat”.

We endeavour to facilitate all requests for educational and skills development courses from our members and attend art and crafts, cookery, gardening, public speaking, and many other workshops and classes.

Members of the Guild participate in Federation and National Competitions with significant success. They also attend all other events organised by the Cavan Federation, notably The Annual Walk for Cavan/Monaghan Palliative Care and The Christmas Country Markets.

Tours and outings are social high points for our members, and we have visited many well-known tourist attractions over the years. An annual visit to An Grianán is a must for many members.

Our Guild, through active participation, is an invaluable resource to our community and we are always ready to help when called upon during community events.

St. Patrick’s Day parades are memorable events for us, and we have been regular prize winners over the years. Our themes have usually been of topical interest with a humorous twist!

Many of our guild members have served as committee members of the Cavan Federation. We also have three Past Federation Presidents to our credit.

New members are always welcome!
